Tarot - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tarot?

Tarot is a system of symbolic images on cards. It is a form of divination that uses a deck of cards to gain insight into the past, present, future. Each card has its own imagery, symbolism, and interpretation, which can vary on the context of a reading. Tarot readings often involve shuffling the deck and laying out the cards in specific spreads, allowing the reader to interpret their meanings and provide guidance. Many people use tarot for self-reflection, decision-making, and exploring their inner thoughts and feelings. Tarot cards can also be used as meditation tools.

Who is querent in Tarot?

The individual receiving the reading is referred to as a querent, derived from the Latin term meaning "seeking." This name reflects the process of seeking answers from the cards. Essentially, a querent is someone who asks questions and seeks insights from a tarot reader.

How can Tarot help me?

Tarot is normally used to provide a reading in which a particular question is explored or your life in general. It is an incredible tool that opens the door to exploring your current challenges and exciting future opportunities. It helps you evaluate options and uncover patterns in your life. With tarot readings, you'll gain valuable insights on specific topics, discover fresh ideas, and may see things from a whole new perspective.

What is Tarot session like?

A tarot reading is a simple process where each card carries a specific meaning. The cards shuffled and arranged in a particular pattern, with each position in the spread representing a different concept or idea. Some readings resemble counseling sessions, providing guidance and insight for those facing challenges, while others serve as a form of divination, offering spiritual insights. Tarot can also be a brainstorming tool, generating new ideas or perspectives. Also, rather than predicting specific future events, readings often focus on present circumstances, shedding light on aspects of an issue you may not fully recognize and provide insights how it may influence your future. Tarot reading can provide a fresh perspective and an objective view of your current situation.

How many questions can I ask?

Based on the session length, the Tarot Reading can provide either a general overview or in-depth insights into four to eight specific topics, allowing for plenty of opportunities to ask clarifying questions during the session. For more details, please visit the SERVICES tab.

Can I change the future?

It’s essential to understand that any prediction represents just one of the most likely futures, and you possess the free will to shape your own life. Tarot cards offer insights and guidance based on the current circumstances, suggesting possible paths forward instead of definitive outcomes. Tarot reading serves as a reflection of existing energies and potential results, indicating that you have the ability to impact your future through your choices.

What is a general Tarot reading?

A general or open tarot reading is when you’re not really asking a specific question but just want to see what the cards have to say. Usually, tarot cards will touch on whatever has been on your mind lately. Instead of focusing on one issue, these readings look at the bigger picture of your life. They're great for those big life changes, like getting married, moving to a new country or starting a new job.

Will you give me to shuffle your cards ?

Most sessions are conducted online, but even for in-person tarot readings, I will personally prepare and shuffle the cards, focusing on your questions but you are welcome to select the tarot deck you would like me to use for your reading.

What is Tarot deck?

A tarot deck is a set of 78 cards used for fortune-telling and more. It consists of two main groups: Major and Minor arcanas, which represent "hidden truths" or "secret knowledge." The Major arcanas have 22 cards that tell the story of life’s journey and the wisdom you pick up along the way, while the Minor arcanas have 56 cards across four suits, each with its own imagery that helps convey their meanings, plus court cards that represent individuals.

What is RWS deck?

RWS stands for Rider-Waite-Smith, an iconic and highly popular Tarot deck worldwide. Designed by Arthur Waite and Pamela Colman Smith, the the cards are vibrant and colorful, featuring complex imagery filled with esoteric symbolism. First published in 1909, it remains the most beloved tarot deck in English-speaking countries and continues to captivate tarot enthusiasts globally. Many modern tarot decks have been inspired by the original Rider-Waite-Smith deck and based on it.

Can I learn Tarot? Do I have a natural talent for it?

For beginners I would suggest to investigate if you have any natural abilities before jumping into spiritual studies. One of the methods I use to determine if you happen to have natural abilities to tarot is the method by a well-known Polish Tarot Master, Alicja Chrzanowska, and guess what? The method is based on your date of birth, and you will do all the calculations yourself using your date. When done, you'll end up with three numbers that match up with Major Arcana cards. If you get numbers like IX – the Hermit, XVIII – the Moon, etc., it will mean you've got strong extrasensory abilities just waiting to be enhanced. If you get, for example XVII - the Star, it would indicate that you have natural abilities for energy healing practices.
